Live A Little

Live a Little is a stark contrast from the music I have written in the past. In my mind, there used to be a strong distinction between jazz charts and classical compositions, such that the two do not inspire each other whatsoever. I was encouraged by my composition professor, Eric Guinivan, to start breaking down those walls and to write exactly what I hear in my head instead of what I think is “normal” for that type of music. I hope each person that listens to this piece will think of a different story, and I hope that you enjoy and maybe even live a little.
